Lunches With Love!

Laine Caspi is one the people in Los Angeles' Council District 12 who looks to support and assist her neighbor's in the community and the City at large. Laine is an energetic volunteer with a heart of gold. Not only is Laine a the Director of Youth Service with the Granada Hills Rotary Club; she puts her boundless vitality to work supporting the Hollywood Food Coalition, local Kiwanis, Devonshire PALS, Red Cross of America, Local Hospitals and meal distribution to unhoused resident and the housed who are food insecure. Seeing the need to feed the unhoused during the midweek and using the Hollywood Food Coalition's model, Laine came up with Lunches with Love. Reaching out to CD12 Councilmember John Lee and About My Father's Business to partner ...AND Lunches of Love was born. Enlisting the help of community organizations, synagogues, churches and resident to prepare freshly made lunches; she has enlisted the help of The Church at Rocky Peak, West Valley United Methodist Church, Shepherd Church, Shomrei Torah Synagogue, Temple Ahavat Shalom, North Regional Valley Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of Chatsworth, Get Together Foundation, and Granada Hills Woman's Club. The program was also given a DWP grant. Councilmember John Lee - Council District 12 provides a variety of snacks water, PPE, hand sanitation kits and sanitation kits.

Each meal is clearly marked with a menu in decorated bags that include words of

encouragement. 1 Sandwich (PB&J, Turkey, Tuna, Ham & Cheese, Vegetarian)

1 Piece of fruit

1 Snack (chips, granola bar, nuts, etc)

1 Beverage

1 cookie or dessert

1 Napkin or paper towel Since launching on the 26 of August 2020 the program has has 3 successful events.
